On April 22nd, 2016 Robert G. Baker passed away from Interstitial Lung Disease surrounded by his family.

Bob left behind his wife, Mary-Helen Watkins Baker, and children, Jonathan Baker of Brookline, MA and Cezanne Giglio of Saugus, MA and her husband Dennis Giglio. He was a beloved grandfather to five granddaughters.

Bob was born in Tucson, AZ on April 29, 1943 and grew up in Southern California. Bob and Mary established their family in Carlsbad, CA. Later they retired to Sagamore Beach, MA.

In 1968, Bob was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was awarded a Purple Heart for his service in Vietnam. In retirement, Bob was active at the Hyannis VA.

Life with Bob was an adventure and he was always eager to learn new sports. As a family, we enjoyed surfing, sailing, snow and water skiing, scuba diving, camping, boating and fishing. Most recently, Bob picked up ice boating and wanted to learn to kite surf. He thoroughly enjoyed both participating in these activities and sharing them with friends and family. Bob enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters Audrina and Madison Giglio.

Bob was as an artist and enjoyed working across a wide variety of media. Some of his favorite works were wire sculptures, wood carvings, paintings, and etchings. He entered art shows and sold or donated artwork all over the cape.

Always busy with a project, Bob built the family pool in San Diego, restored several cars and boats, learned to tie flies and make his own fishing tackle. Bob was equally happy to work on his own project or simply help a friend or neighbor with their project.

Celebration of Life

A celebration of Bob's life with family and friends will be arranged at a later date.
